Meet Our Pastor
Fr. Brian O’Brien
Ordained a priest of the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma on May 26, 2007, Fr. Brian O'Brien currently serves as Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater, OK and Associate Director of Vocations for the diocese.
Father O'Brien spent much of his childhood in the Houston suburb of Kingwood, TX graduating from Kingwood High School in 1994. He attended Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA graduating in 1998 with a degree in Theology and Political Science. He immediately joined the Alliance for Catholic Education at the University of Notre Dame and was sent to teach at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, OK. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Master's in Education in 2000. Following graduation from Notre Dame, Fr. O'Brien stayed on at Bishop Kelley for another two years teaching Theology, Government, and coaching boys basketball.
After serious prayer and reflection including consideration of various dioceses where he lived and religious orders with which he was familiar, Fr. O'Brien affiliated with the Diocese of Tulsa as a seminarian. He was sent to Saint Meinrad Seminary in southern Indiana from 2002-2007 finishing with a Masters in Catholic Social Thought and Life and a Masters in Divinity.
Following his 2007 ordination, he was assigned as Associate Pastor of Christ the King Catholic Church in Tulsa and as Chaplain of Bishop Kelley High School. He served as President of Bishop Kelley High School from June 1, 2009 to December 21, 2017.
Starting in January 2018, he's served as Pastor of Saint Francis Xavier in Stillwater, OK.
Born in Syracuse, NY as the youngest child of Marty and Peggy O'Brien his siblings and seven nieces and nephews live throughout the country Marty (Redwood City, CA), Kerry (Washington, DC), Andy (Montoursville, PA) and Meghan (Houston, TX).
In his free time, Fr. O'Brien enjoys college and pro sports (since moving to Stillwater, he's become a big fan of the Cowboys!) reading, and visiting historic sights. His favorite saints are St. John Paul II, St. Damien of Molokai, St. Therese of Lisieux, and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati.

Rev. Mr. Bart Brashears
Leah Benjamin - Finance and Facilities Manager
Leah Benjamin joined the Saint Francis Xavier staff in December 2017 as Director of Facilities & Finance and has loved being part of the growing Stillwater Catholic Community. She is an on fire Catholic convert (2012) and always seeking to learn more about being bold and being Catholic. She dedicated her life to Mary in October 2014 and is not shy about relying on Mary for protection and guidance. In addition, she enjoys doing Adoration, Novenas, reading Catholic stuff and watching EWTN.
She has a Master of Science in Horticulture, has a cougar sanctuary, and comes from a family of construction business owners. She has completed several projects of her own, including the nicest, privately owned enclosed cougar habitat in the state.
Leah’s passions are sharing Jesus love & joy with others, her exotic animals, Chick-Fil-A and homemade popcorn. She is soon to be joined by her husband, Jefferson, and looking forward to the next chapter God has planned for them.
Tom Bradley - Maintenance
Tom was born and raised in Frederick, OK. He started college at the University of Oklahoma School of Radiological Technologists on June 9, 1968 and graduated on June 10, 1970. His first job as a Radiological Technologist was at the USPHS Indian Hospital in Lawton, OK then he went to work at the Lindley Hospital in Duncan, OK.
Tom joined the Army in September 1971 and served until September 1974. He married Barbara Butzek on April 19th, 1974 and moved to Buffalo, NY, where Barbara was raised, upon discharge. He worked at the VA Hospital there until deciding to move to Stillwater, OK to continue his education in December 1977 starting at OSU in January of 1978.
He has held many different types of jobs, while raising three wonderful children. His children have blessed him with ten grandchildren ranging in age from 22 years old to eight months old. He currently works as the maintenance person for St. Francis Xavier Church Stillwater, OK.
Stacy Humbery - Evangelization and Mission
Stacy Humbert is a convert to the Catholic faith. She joined the Catholic Church in 2013 by receiving all three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist). Since entering the Church, Stacy has been deeply inspired to work for the mission of Jesus Christ to “Go Make Disciples”, and has worked as a volunteer and staff member of several parishes to fulfill this calling. Stacy joined the staff of Saint Francis Xavier in August of 2018 as the Director of Evangelization and Mission. In November 2018, she moved to Stillwater to become a member of the community with her husband, Jeremy, and three children (Alyssa, Cole and Ava).
Stacy earned an undergraduate degree from Southern Nazarene University in Business Administration in 2010. In order to prepare for the calling God placed on her heart for mission, Stacy has been working towards a second bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry and a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Leadership over the past few years. Stacy’s great loves in life are Jesus, her family, her job, and classic movies.
Lauren Lacy - Communications
Lauren was born and raised in Edmond, OK. Upon graduation from high school, she moved to Stillwater to continue her education at Oklahoma State University pursing a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional Sciences with a Pre-Med option. Her plans are to attend nursing school and find a career that keeps her close to her family in Oklahoma.
She joined the St. Francis Xavier team in October of 2018 as the Communications Director and loves being able to collaborate with the rest of the staff to spread the messages and events of the church.
Ashleigh Martin - Youth Ministry (6th-12th)
Ashleigh was born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi where she attended catholic schools for twelve years. After high school, she attended The University of Southern Mississippi where she majored in Hospitality Management. During college, she interned at Walt Disney World where she met her husband, Jesse. They were married in August 2001 in Biloxi, MS.
After graduating from college she worked as the Youth Director at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral in Biloxi. During August 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the facility where Jesse worked was destroyed.
They moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma in February 2006 with their daughter. Ashleigh and Jesse have three children, Mackenzie (14), Maddox (10) and Miles (6).
Vic Schutte - Director of Operations
Born and raised in Nebraska, Vic is a graduate of the University of Nebraska - Kearney and received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Saint Ambrose University in Davenport Iowa. Family ties brought him back to Stillwater, after early retirement from industry in international operations, Vic enjoys his family and serving the parish.
Rev. Mr. Paul Govek
Paul Govek was ordained a Deacon of the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma on April 25, 1997. Deacon Paul was born and raised in Sheboygan, WI. He earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, a Certificate of Continuing Education in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University, and a BS in Management from Oklahoma State University. He served in the National Guard during the time of racial unrest and anti-Vietnam War protests. He was employed by the MerCruiser Division of Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, WI and transferred to Stillwater, OK retiring as a Product Engineer - Planning & Quality.
Paul and Ann have four children who are married with families.
Deacon Paul enjoys reading, singing, playing the ukulele, and solving puzzles, especially challenging jigsaw puzzles.
Brandi Bishop - Parish Nurse
Brandi was born and raised in Chillicothe, MO. Brandi attended Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1998. After graduation, Brandi moved to Atchison, KS, where she assisted as a residential houseparent and school nurse at Maur Hill Preparatory School.
In 2005, Brandi and her family relocated to Stillwater, OK. In 2016, she began her current full-time employment at Stillwater Medical Center where she helped develop and launch a Population Health Management Program for health plan members. Brandi began her work as a Parish Nurse in 2009 as a volunteer under the direction of Marilyn Seiler.
She completed the Faith Community Nursing Foundations Course in 2013 and assumed the role of St. Francis Xavier Parish Nurse in 2014. Brandi has been married to Alex for 20 years and they are the proud parents of four wonderful girls Katelyn (19), Megan (17), Allison (14), and Madilyn (10). In her free time, Brandi enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Erin Johnson - Database Manager
Erin Johnson was born in Arlington, VA and moved to Oklahoma in 1990. She graduated from Bishop John Carroll and Bishop McGuinness Catholic Schools in Oklahoma City.
In 2005, she graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry and worked for Oklahoma Forestry Services for 9 years. Erin married Darrel Johnson in 2008 and they have 3 children. She is now the Database Manager for our Parish.
Sheryl Lacy - Operations Manager
Sheryl was born and raised in Stillwater and moved back home in 2017, after living in Edmond for 23 years.
She attended Oklahoma State University. Sheryl is blessed with four wonderful children, Hudson, Lauren, Brennan and Corbin. She is the Operations Manager for our Parish. This church is home to her, so she enjoys being able to serve the parish.
Claudia currently is the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) Director at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. In June 2018 she moved to Stillwater from the San Antonio area where she was the Child Development Center Director at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for almost 28 years.
Claudia was born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1985 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. After caddying for her brother David on the PGA Tour, she joined him in Texas where her first teaching position was at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School in Houston, Texas. After two years Claudia decided to relocate to the San Antonio area and at that time accepted a position at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School to teach 1st grade. Two years later she was offered the Director position.
Claudia’s decision to relocate to Stillwater was easy as not only did she accept the challenge of opening up a new preschool at SFX but this ministry also provided her the opportunity to move closer to her sister Alicia.
In her free time, Claudia enjoys golfing with her sister, shopping, and following the Chicago Cubs!
Noemi Rodriguez - Parish Office Assistant
Ninfa Noemi Rodriguez (Colossians 4:15 Spanish Version) was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and grew up in Frostproof, Florida. Studied Health Care at South Florida State College, University of Central Florida and Indian River State College. She moved to Stillwater summer of 2018. Noemi's favorites include family, food and travel. In her spare time she loves spending time with family and friends, volunteering, and going to the beach.
